Screen enclosures

Screen enclosure and pool cage replacement in Sarasota and Manatee counties

When an old pool cage or lanai enclosure is rusting at the base, sagging, missing panels after a storm or simply past its life, Shore Home tears it out and builds a new one. Replacement in Sarasota and Manatee counties needs new engineering and a permit, and we handle both. It is also the easiest time to change the style, frame color or screen.

What we build

  • Removal and disposal of the old enclosure
  • New engineered frame and screen
  • Upgrading to a panoramic design or a new frame color
  • Storm damage replacement
  • Fixing or redoing the deck under the cage if needed

Signs it is time to replace

  • Corrosion or white powder where the frame meets the deck
  • Sagging roof panels or bent beams
  • Doors that no longer close
  • Panels torn out or frame damage after a storm
  • A deck under the cage that is cracking or sinking

How replacement works

We start with an on-site look and measurements, then order new engineering and pull the permit. On build days, the old enclosure comes down and is hauled away, any deck repairs are made, and the new frame and screen go up. The county or city inspects the finished enclosure.

Fix the deck at the same time

The time between tear-out and the new cage is the one chance to redo the pool deck without working around a frame. Ask us to price pool deck pavers in the same estimate.

About our reviews

Enclosure replacement: common questions

Should I rescreen or replace my enclosure?

If the frame is solid, straight and not corroded, rescreening can be enough. If the frame is rusting at the anchors, bent, sagging or was damaged in a storm, replacement is usually the safer choice. We look at the frame and tell you which one you need.

Is storm damage to a screen enclosure covered by insurance?

That depends on your policy and your deductible, and only your insurer can answer it. We can provide a written estimate for the replacement that you can share with your insurance company.

Can I change the style when I replace my cage?

Yes. Replacement is the best time to switch to a panoramic design, a darker frame color, or a different screen. The new cage is engineered and permitted from scratch either way.
