Screen enclosure services

Why homeowners here screen in

A screen enclosure keeps out bugs, leaves and most debris, cuts down on pool cleaning, and gives you an outdoor room you can use most of the year. It also adds a barrier between the pool and the yard, which many families with small children and pets want.

Built for Florida weather

Enclosures in Southwest Florida have to meet the Florida Building Code for wind. Each enclosure we build has engineered drawings for its size and location, uses aluminum framing with fasteners suited to the climate, and goes through the county or city permit and inspection process.

Pair it with a new deck

The enclosure attaches to the deck or to footings around it. If your pool deck is cracked or worn, it is best to redo it first or plan both together.

Screen enclosures: common questions

Do I need a permit for a screen enclosure?

Yes. In Sarasota County, Manatee County and the cities inside them, a new or replacement screen enclosure needs a building permit with engineering for local wind loads, followed by inspections. Shore Home handles the permit for you as part of the job.

What is a panoramic screen enclosure?

A standard pool cage often has a horizontal aluminum beam across the screen walls. A panoramic design removes it, so the view to your yard, lake or preserve is open from deck to roof line. It can cost more because of the framing it takes, and we will price both styles if you are interested.

What color should the frame be?

Black and bronze frames are the most popular because they fade into the background and make the screen easier to see through. White and other colors are available. Match it to your window frames or trim for a clean look.

How long does installation take once the permit is approved?

The build itself usually takes a few days on site for a typical pool cage. Permitting and engineering take longer than the build, so the total time from signed estimate to finished enclosure is mostly paperwork. Your written estimate includes the expected schedule.
