Paver work we do
Pavers are the core of what Shore Home builds, and a good paver job often leads to the next project, like a screen enclosure over the new pool deck or an outdoor kitchen on the patio.
How a paver job is built
- Layout and digging. We mark the shape, set the finished height and slope, and dig out the old surface and soft soil.
- Base. Crushed base rock is spread in layers and compacted. Driveways get a deeper base than patios because they carry cars.
- Bedding and pavers. A thin, level layer of sand goes down, then the pavers in the pattern you chose. Cuts are made at the edges and around drains.
- Edge restraint. The edges are locked so the pavers cannot spread over time.
- Joint sand and compaction. Sand is swept into the joints and the surface is compacted so the pavers lock together.
Choosing a paver
Concrete pavers come in many colors, sizes and patterns and suit driveways well. Travertine stays cooler under bare feet, which is why it is common on pool decks in Southwest Florida. We bring samples to the estimate so you can see them against your house.
