Pool deck pavers in Sarasota and Manatee counties

Shore Home installs paver pool decks across Sarasota and Manatee counties, both new decks and replacements for tired concrete or worn coatings. We pick pavers that suit wet, bare feet, slope the deck away from the pool and the house, and fit the pavers neatly against the pool coping. If you want a pool cage too, we can plan both together.

What we build

  • New paver pool decks
  • Replacing cracked concrete or failing deck coatings
  • Pavers over an existing deck where the slab allows
  • Travertine and concrete paver options
  • Deck extensions for lounge chairs and dining
  • Planning the deck and a new screen enclosure together

A pool deck built for Florida

Pool decks deal with sun, rain, pool water and bare feet. A good paver deck drains away from the pool and the house, has a surface that is not slick when wet, and stays comfortable to walk on. Pavers also make repairs simple: one stained or cracked paver can be swapped without patching a whole slab.

Deck and enclosure together

Many of our pool deck customers also want a new or replacement screen enclosure. Planning both at once means the enclosure footings, the deck height and the drainage are worked out together, and you deal with one crew and one schedule.

Pool deck pavers: common questions

Which pavers stay coolest around a pool?

Light-colored travertine is a popular pool deck choice in Southwest Florida because it stays cooler under bare feet than dark concrete pavers and has a natural texture. Lighter concrete pavers also help. We bring samples so you can compare them in your own yard.

Can pavers go over my existing pool deck?

Sometimes. If the existing slab is sound, thin pavers can be set over it, which avoids demolition. If the slab is cracked, sinking or too close to door and coping heights, the old deck should come out. We decide after looking at the deck and measuring heights.

Should I replace the pool deck before adding a screen enclosure?

Usually yes. A pool cage is anchored to the deck or to footings around it, so it makes sense to do the deck first or plan both jobs together. Doing it the other way can mean working around, or removing, a new enclosure later.
