Paver patios and lanai floors in Sarasota and Manatee counties

Shore Home builds paver patios and lanai floors for homes in Sarasota and Manatee counties, from a small seating area to a large outdoor living space with room for an outdoor kitchen. We grade the patio to drain away from the house, add drains where water collects and lock the edges so the pavers stay in place.

What we build

  • New paver patios and patio extensions
  • Lanai floors under a roof or screen enclosure
  • Patios planned around an outdoor kitchen or fire feature
  • Trench drains and grading away from the house
  • Steps, borders and seating walls

A patio that drains

The most common patio problem we see is water: puddles against the house, or runoff toward the doors. We set the slope before a single paver goes down, and add a trench drain where a patio meets the house with little room to slope, like the lanai in the photo above.

Plan for what comes next

A patio is often the first step toward a bigger outdoor space. If you might add an outdoor kitchen or a screen enclosure later, we can run conduit and plumbing sleeves under the pavers now, so nothing has to be torn up later.

About our reviews

Paver patios: common questions

How big should a paver patio be?

Plan the patio around what you will put on it. A table for six needs more space than most people expect once chairs are pulled out, and walkways around furniture need room too. We lay out the furniture and any outdoor kitchen during the estimate so the size fits how you will use it.

Can you extend my existing patio with pavers?

Yes. We can extend a concrete patio with pavers or replace it entirely. Matching heights and drainage at the joint between old and new is the main detail, and in many cases a full paver surface looks better than a mix.
