Why the base matters most on a driveway
A driveway carries the weight of cars every day, so the base under the pavers has to be thicker and better compacted than under a patio. We dig to firm soil, add crushed base rock in layers and compact each one. That is the part you never see and the part that decides how the driveway looks in ten years.
Replacing a cracked concrete driveway
Many homes in the area have original concrete driveways that have cracked or stained. We break out and haul away the old concrete, regrade, build the new base and install pavers. A driveway apron that meets the street may need a county or city right-of-way permit; we check before we start.
Pick a look that fits the house
Driveway pavers come in many colors and sizes. A border in a contrasting color, a matching walkway to the front door, or a wider parking pad are common additions. We bring samples to your estimate.
